Philip's eye

Last night, Philip ran into a friend head on while playing in the sprinklers at school (at Jess' practice).  Jess got him some ice and picked me up and we rushed to the ER to make sure there was no damage to the skull or the eye.  They got us in and out in no time!  That was a huge blessing.  We thought we would be there until midnight.  The doctor, nurse and receptionist were all very thorough and very friendly and gentle with Philip.  The doctor won his trust in just a few minutes.  I was so thankful for this because an ER visit is such a scary thing for anyone.  Even though he was still scared, he did as the doctor asked and even gave one of his prized transformer stickers to Samuel when we got back in the van.

Everything checked out good.  He slept with me and slept fine.  Thank you, God.

In the ER room, while waiting on the nurse, Philip asked me to take a picture to show his cousins.  :)

When we left the parking lot, we passed Jess' friend (his little boy David has the same thing on his forehead and the imprint of Philip's eye socket).  He had come all the way to the hospital to check on him and was going to brink milkshakes to the kids if they had a long wait!  He and his wife had even offered to take the other two kids when it happened.

Such a brave and sweet little man
Please pray for quick healing and continued courage--
for David, too.
